Presentation Summary:
This Program will outline the new Medi Cal Asset rules and show how incomes provide the best benchmark for eligibility in the community. The new asset limits open interesting possibilities for patients in skilled nursing facilities, where income is a less important planning guideline. We will offer planning suggestions for the next fifteen months, and beyond when the rules are changed again in 2024.
Medi Cal recovery has been drastically reduced by the 2016 legislation. We will review the current rules and discuss what planning might be needed now to avoid or minimize recovery.
