Presentation Summary:

This program provides an overview of artificial intelligence (AI) technology and its growing impact on the practice of law. Attendees will gain an understanding of AI's capabilities, limitations, and the ethical considerations surrounding its use by clients and in legal practice. The speakers will discuss the importance of staying informed about AI developments and share insights into effectively and safely integrating AI tools into legal workflows. The program will also touch on some of the emerging AI tools being adopted in various practice areas.  Finally, the program will provide survey of some of the AI legal issues that business and individual clients may face.

  • Identify best practices for safely and ethically integrating AI tools into legal workflows

About Our Speakers:

Stephen Wu is a shareholder with Silicon Valley Law Group and a nationally recognized authority on the legal implications of cutting-edge technologies like AI, robotics, and autonomous vehicles. His practice includes compliance, technology transactions, tech litigation, incident response, and creating AI, data privacy, and information security governance programs for clients. He serves as Chair of the ABA's AI and Robotics National Institute and was appointed by the American Bar Association President to the Task Force on Law and Artificial Intelligence. A Harvard Law graduate, Stephen has authored six books and numerous articles on technology law topics. In 2007, Stephen spearheaded the creation of the first committee in the ABA to examine AI. He helped found several other ABA Science & Technology Law Section Committees and previously served as Chair of the Section. Stephen's extensive experience and thought leadership make him a sought-after speaker and advisor on the intersection of law and emerging technologies.


Arthur Rothrock is the co-founder and CEO of Legion, an AI-powered litigation support platform that drafts pleadings, discovery, motions and other documents. A former Hopkins & Carley (now Lathrop GPM) Trust & Estate litigator, Arthur's new legal practice Rothrock Legal is pioneering a hybrid hourly rate/per page billing model to account for how AI will change the landscape of legal practice. He also hosts "The Legal Entrepreneur Podcast," featuring insightful discussions with other attorneys on the challenges and opportunities of running a law practice in today's dynamic environment. Arthur holds a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law where he served on the executive boards of both Law Review and the High Tech Law Journal.
